GoCarma automatically tracks your commute trips in the background — but if you notice missing trips or incomplete data, it usually means your permissions or phone settings are preventing GoCarma from working properly.
Follow these steps to make sure your trips are logged correctly.
🧭 1. Check Location Settings
Go to Phone Settings → GoCarma → Location.
Set Allow Location Access to Always.
Turn on Precise Location.
💡 “Always Allow” is required for GoCarma to detect trips even when the app is closed.
⚙️ 2. Check Motion & Fitness Permissions
Open Settings → Privacy → Motion & Fitness.
Make sure GoCarma is enabled.
This helps the app understand when you’re moving versus stationary.
💡 “Always Allow” is required for GoCarma to detect trips even when the app is closed.
🔋 3. Check Battery Optimization
Some devices limit background activity to save battery, which can block trip logging.
On iOS: Disable Low Power Mode during commutes.
On Android: Go to Battery → Background Restrictions → make sure GoCarma is not restricted.
📡 4. Keep Bluetooth On
GoCarma uses Bluetooth signals (and sometimes in-vehicle connections) to help classify trip modes — especially for carpools or connected vehicle trips.
🚦 5. Open the App After Your Trip
If a trip doesn’t show up immediately, open GoCarma to trigger data sync. The trip should appear within a few minutes.
🧾 6. Report a Trip Issue
If a trip still looks incorrect:
Tap the Trip Card in your app.
Select “Request a Review.”
Choose the correct mode(s) and add a short comment.
Tap Submit.
A support team member will review and resolve it.
If a trip is not displayed at all, contact us using the steps below.
🆘 Still Not Working?
If you’ve followed all steps and trips still aren’t detected:
Contact Support through the app under Help → Contact Support.
Include your date of missing trip for faster help.
